1995
First Church Conference
“Fire Conference” was born out of the vision God implanted on our hearts and the need we saw in this city. God answered mightily, transforming lives through repentance, healing, and baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Church of Truth
Our Story
Est. September 19, 1993
Our very first service was held on September 19, 1993. What follows is the record of what God has done since — in this city and in the nations.
1993September 19
Church Launch
With a word from God and a desire to see people encounter Jesus, Pastor Sergey Kozlov and Church of Truth opened its doors for the first service. What started with a handful of people would grow into a global impact.
1996
Northside Baptist Church
After a few years of renting churches, community centers, lobbies, sports facility and schools, Northside Baptist Church responded to our newspaper ad. This would be home for our services over the next 8 years. In these years, the congregation grew from 100 to 700 people, rapidly outgrowing the facility.
2000
Office Building Purchased
Because of the rapid growth, an additional building was purchased and remodeled to serve as a gathering place throughout the week. This served as a church office with rooms that fit up to 80 people. Mid-week services, youth gatherings, worship rehearsals, the Bible school, 40-hour prayers and administrators called this house their home. Additional 2 acres of land gave opportunity for outdoor events. In a short amount of time, the building was fully paid off.
2004
Rainier Middle School
At the time, what seemed like an illogical decision became an opportunity. We purchased a middle school. God knew exactly how to purpose the building. Partnering with Mountain Ministries, Rainier Oregon Union Middle School was remodeled and served as a rehabilitation center. Till this day, Mountain Ministries continues to serve and help people with addictions from all walks of life.
2004
Purchased “The Hoop”
After 11 years of renting different facilities, through many circumstances God made a way for us to purchase a sports complex “The Hoop”. A building which held 8 basketball courts and sporting equipment would be transformed into a church.
2004
Revival
For those who were present, this was a year that will never be forgotten. A pivotal season for our Church which changed the lives of so many people. What started with a deep hunger for God’s presence turned into an outpouring of His Spirit.
2005
Encounter Services
Early on, we recognized that what God was doing in the church families and around our city was nothing short of supernatural. Encounter services opened doors to minister to individuals and families in need of freedom and restoration in any aspect of their lives. Later these services spread globally and still happen regularly today.
2006
Phase 1 Completed
After a miraculous purchase of “The Hoop”, we moved quickly to remodel the building. Members stepped out in faith contributing finances, vehicles, items, skills, and volunteer time to renovate the building. The Sanctuary, classrooms, and office spaces were built within a year which allowed us to function more efficiently.
2006
First G4T Conference
Our vision has been to empower and equip the local youth. This annual event attracts over 1,000 young people who gather from all over the country to press in and experience the presence of God.
2008
Help Africa
We knew God was calling Church of Truth to impact the nations. Help Africa was registered as a non-profit organization to operate in various regions of Tanzania. The goal was concrete: to bring the gospel into the most remote tribes. Working with locals to support the growth of churches in their regions, Help Africa initiates sustainable projects to build long-term relationships with the people.
2011
Yogi Bear Ministry
Yogi Bear was launched to attract kids of all ages with a goal to reach their families. On a weekly basis, volunteers visit local apartment complexes to share Bible stories. Through this effort, many more outreach ministries came to be.
2013
Twentieth Anniversary
Approaching this milestone, all we could do was thank God for His faithfulness and grace which was evident over the past 20 years. God did more than we could ever imagine.
2013
G4T Internship Program Launch
After years of prayer the doors opened for a dream to come to fruition. A 9-month practical internship program was developed for young people to learn, find and fulfill what God has for them.
2014September 20
Launch of the English Service
Pastor Sergey sensed the leading of the Holy Spirit in ministering to people outside the Slavic community. Roman and Sophia Trachuk were appointed as Pastors and led a team in launching the English service. The service erupted with salvations, deliverances and healings. There are now many nationalities represented in this service, making Church of Truth a multicultural church.
